WordPress vs Chrome Popup Blocker

Wordpress Logo (Cutout)When you’re using the Google Chrome web browser to edit or create a WordPress post (at WordPress.com), do you sometimes get denied the preview because Chrome’s popup blocker blocks it? I know I do. I’ve also tried to allow popups from wordpress.com in the popup blocker settings, but somehow that does not seem to help, or, to be precise, the preview window which usually opens in a new tab, then opens in a separate window, which annoys me because it disturbs my meticulously developed and streamlined WordPressing habits.

I stumbled across a very simple solution:

Click “Save Draft” first, and then press “Preview”.

This should work nicely, and once you’ve done that, from then on you’ll only have to press the “Preview” button to update the preview.
