Things I Learned

Photoshop Elements

Creating justified text

  1. Create a text frame by choosing the text tool, and drag out a frame in which to place text (as opposed to just clicking once).
  2. Type in your text.
  3. Press Ctrl-Shift-F to justify the text.

Windows

Access the God Mode panel

  1. Create a folder
  2. Give it the name GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Access the Windows reliability monitor

  1. Open the Start menu
  2. Type “reliability”
  3. The search result should show “View reliability history”

Access the CHKDSK log

  1. Open Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer (or open the Start Menu and type “eventvwr.msc”)
  2. Go to Windows Logs, Application
  3. Look for Wininit (or ChkDsk) in the Source column (or filter the list on “wininit”)
  4. Right-click on the wininit item and select Properties

Alternate solution: There are also chkdsk .log files, viewable in a text editor, located at C:\System Volume Information\Chkdsk. You can only view it if Control Panel » Folder Options » ‘Hidden files and folders’ » ‘Show hidden files, folders, and drives’ is selected and ‘Hide protected operating system files’ is unchecked. (I found that in Windows 8, the System Volume Information folder and everything in it is unavailable, and the process to gain access is non-trivial to say the least. Have not yet tested in other versions of Windows.)
