Lens to lens

June 11, 2004

Here the photographer was photographing the photographing photographer’s photographing mother photographing the photographing photographer.

It’s a bit like when you set up two mirrors facing each other; you get an infinite series of reflections, bouncing back and forth at the speed of something really fast. The only true difference is grammar. Well, that, and just how many times it’s humanly possible to use variations of the word “photograph” in a sentence.

Plus you get into relativity territory. Like, this photograph (look, there’s another one) time travelled a whopping eighteen years to get here today, one photon bounce at a time.
